ADVICE FROM KIM

-Prepare as much as possible. Stock the pantry with ingredients for quick meals and snacks, set up a meal train or ask family/friends for help, buy healing products you anticipate needing, get yourself some comfortable pajamas or sweats and slippers- anything you can to take some stress away when you’re home with a new baby
-Make self care a priority. Your baby needs a healthy, happy mom. Even simple things like brushing your teeth, eating, drinking lots of water, taking a shower/getting dressed – Even if you’re just putting pajamas on again- it helps you feel more human. And ask for and accept help from others to make this possible/ allow others to care for you.
-Find a group of new moms to connect with- either in person or virtually.
-Consider getting a postpartum doula if you don’t have the help you need.
-It’s going to be hard. But it’s temporary. And there is so much love and joy amongst all the tough stuff, too. Reach out if you’re struggling. Know that whatever you’re going through, someone else has gone through it or is now and can offer help.
